Mending Melissa - band shoot
August 09th, 2010 | in Portraits

Recently I had the opportunity to shoot some photos for local band Mending Melissa.

The concept was to go for a grungy industrial look. So we went out the back of our studio for some individual and group shots.

AIPP Roadshow- Newcastle Day 2
August 03rd, 2010 | in News

One the second day of the workshop we focused more on portraits. Justin, another photographer in Newcastle and his family were fantastic models for me. I could not get over how patient his kids were, with 15 people trailing after them with cameras :)

Photographers are notorious for not having photos of our own families, so it was fantastic to be able to capture these images for them.

AIPP Roadshow- Newcastle
July 29th, 2010 | in News

I have just returned from 2 days in Newcastle, teaching at the AIPP Roadshow with Daniel from Pixel Purity and Steve from CHP Image Studio, who was also our incredible host. We covered both wedding & portrait photography, from shooting to photoshop to sales. I had a blast meeting such a great group of people.

On the first day Steve talked about shooting for a wedding. I couldn't help myself from capturing some images from a few different angles.

Georgie & Doug
July 27th, 2010 | in Weddings

Georgie & Doug's winter wedding.

It was only a couple of weeks before their wedding that we run into Georgie & Doug at Deb & Jonathan's wedding. Obviously they compared notes when planning their weddings and hence everything was just perfect.

We started by documenting Georgie and Doug getting ready before heading to the historic Garrison Church in The Rocks. For the location photos it made sense to head to nearby Observatory Hill. In winter the daylight fades quickly and Observatory Hill just manages to catch the last daylight in Sydney.

After the location photos we headed over to Observatory Hotel where Georgie & Doug were staying. Everyone chilled out for a bit over drinks and we managed to get a few more nice images in the Hotel.

For the reception we headed over to The Wharf Restaurant. Both Georgie and Doug's families came to Sydney from the country so here they got to enjoy some of the best views of the harbour.
